Weldon Currie Bannister, 88, of Havelock passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at home.
Born in Petitcodiac he was the son of the late Currie and Rella (Mann) Bannister.
Weldon was a retired Industrial Mechanic of 38 years with Canada Cement Lafarge. He was an active member of the Havelock Baptist church having served on boards and was a Sunday School teacher. Weldon volunteered for many years with the St. John Ambulance and the Havelock Memorial Hall.
He is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 60 years Nancy (Plume); sons Terry (Ann), Havelock, Tim, Saint John, Trevor (Slena), Moncton; grandchildren Darcie Bell (Ben), SK, Justin Bannister (Rachel), AB, Jeffery Bannister (Melissa), Moncton, Zachery Bannister, Moncton, Emily Bannister, Moncton, Marie Baird, Truro, Alex Bannister, ON, Alicia Bannister, Moncton; great grandchildren Noah, Sadie, Corbin, Liam and Matthew; brothers Hanford and Arnold Bannister, Petitcodiac and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased sister Elizabeth (Rachel) Bannister. Interment at Greenhill Cemetery at a later date.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, March 28 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held at the Havelock Baptist church, Wednesday, March 29 at 2 pm with Pastor Jeff Irving and Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Interment at Greenhill Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorials to the Havelock Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.

BANNISTER, RACHEL ELIZABETH - Rachel Bannister, 70, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Monday, October 24th, 2011. Born in Petitcodiac, she was a daughter of the late Currie and Rella (nee Mann) Bannister. Rachel is survived by her siblings: Weldon Bannister (Nancy) of Havelock; Hanford Bannister of Petitcodiac; and Arnold Bannister of Petitcodiac; as well as by several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral service as per Rachel’s request. A private graveside committal service will be held at a later date in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church Cemetery. LOUNSBURY, WILFRED JAMES - Wilfred James Lounsbury, 90, of the Jordan LifeCare Center and formerly of Wheaton Settlement, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at his residence.Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was a son of the late G. Edwin and Edith (Howard) Lounsbury. Wilfred was a retired farmer, carpenter and mail driver. He was a member of the Wheaton Settlement Baptist Church. He is survived and missed by his daughters Alice Symes (Joe) of Harcourt and Mary Plaggenborg (Johan) of Sussex; sons James (Olive) and David (Debbie) both of River Glade and Nelson (Mary) of Coles Island; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother George of Wheaton Settlement; sister Edith Allen (William) of River Glade; sister in law Maude Colpitts; brother in law Claude Bannister; special niece Sherry Seely (Grant) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife W. Myrtle (Bannister); second wife Frances (Budd) (Dunstin) and sister and brother in law Gladys and Lloyd Dixon.Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday, July 21, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Friday, July 22 at 1 pm with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes officiating. STEEVES, GORDON EDWARD - Gordon Edward Steeves, 71, of Elgin, passed away at home on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Born in Elgin, he was a son of the late Harold “Jerry” and Annie (nee Bannister) Steeves. Gordon worked for G.E. Barbour Foods before his retirement. He was a member of the Elgin Fire Department for 37 years, and he was a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, playing washers, and cribbage, but his first love was his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 49 years, Elsie Steeves (nee Garland); his children: Jim Steeves of Elgin, Donna Steeves (Terry) of Sussex, Mary Lynne Steeves of Elgin, and Douglas (Chrys) of Salisbury Back Road; his brother, Garry Steeves (Linda) of Elgin; and his cherished grandchildren: Zachery, Destiny, and Dyllan; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brother, Arnold.
Visitation will be held on Sunday April 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac; the funeral service will be held on Monday April 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the First Elgin Baptist Church with Rev. James Hammond and Rev. David Hawkesworth presiding. Interment will be held in the New Elgin Cemetery. Donations to the Elgin Fire Department or a Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
