Eva Bernice WEIR

BANNISTER, EVA - Eva Bernice Bannister (nee Weir), 88, of Prosser Brook, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in Turtle Creek, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie (nee Smith) Weir. Eva was a past member of the Prosser Brook Baptist Church, and the Prosser Brook & Parkindale Women’s Institute. She is survived by her son, Gordon “Gordie” Bannister of Salisbury; her sisters: Elinor MacDonald, and Audrey Steeves; her brothers: John Weir, and Benjamin “Benny” Weir; her special niece, Esther Douthwright; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Bannister; her sisters: Hilda Morrissey, and Charlotte Martin; and her brothers: Raymond Weir, Howard Weir, Clarence Weir, and Eric Weir.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Interment will be held in the Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Jordan Lifecare Centre or a charity of choice would be appreciated. 791. Earl Travis Steeves STEEVES

STEEVES, EARL TRAVIS - 77, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly Forrest Hill passed away at his residence on Thursday November 22, 2012. Born in Forest Hill he was a son of the late Bliss and Mona (Steeves) Steeves. Earl was a lifetime woodsworker who enjoyed being out with nature. Survived by his wife Marion, children Karen Simmons (Ellis) of Moncton, Katherine Cameron (Michael) of Riverview, Kimberley Steeves (Beverly) and Lewis Steeves (Cindy) of Alberta, Jeffrey Steeves (Hectorine) of Bathurst ; his sister Louise Lane of the Glades; five Step-children; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived also by the mother of his children Shirley Fowler. Predeceased by his parents, his step-father Vernard (Bernie) Steeves; daughters Patricia Steeves and Pamela Reid.
The funeral will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Monday November 26 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. No visiting hours by request. Gerald Clarence Steeves, 67, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, left the land of the dying to be with his Lord and Saviour in the land of the living on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at The Moncton Hospital. Beloved husband of Ruth (Girvan) Steeves, Gerald was born on December 16, 1942 in Forest Hill, NB to the late Clarence and Thelma (Prosser) Steeves. Gerald retired from NB Tel after 37 years service in Bathurst and Moncton and was a faithful active member of Hillside Baptist Church where he served in several capacities. His involvement ranged from working with the very young in the nursery to leadership on several boards. In both his work and church life, his trademark smile and friendly positive outlook earned him the love and respect of everyone he met. This was nowhere more evident than his involvement in the yearly Leadership Summit. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed the maple sugar woods, cooking, hobby farming and was always ready to meet a new friend. In recent years he enjoyed being active in the Hub City Square Dance Club. Predeceased by his parents, Gerald will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Ruth (Girvan) Steeves, his children Marilyn Dunnett (John), Quispamsis, Tammy MacDonald (Mark), Winston-Salem, NC, Duane Steeves (Suzanne), Moncton, Vicki Buchanan (Brad), Sussex and seven grandchildren, Joshua and Isaac MacDonald, Benjamin and Sarah Dunnett, Nathan and Lauren Buchanan and Kenneth Steeves. He is also survived by brothers Ronald (Lorraine) Steeves, Sussex and David (Debbie) Steeves, Riverview; sister-in-law Karen Brown (Wally), Crousetown, NS and brother-in-law Ross Girvan (Paula) Rexton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Hillside Baptist Church, 2290 Mountain Road, Moncton on Tuesday June 8, 2010 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be at Hillside Baptist Church on June 9, 2010 at 11:00am, with Rev. Jerry Reddy, Rev. Gordon Horsman and Rev. John Dunnett officiating. A reception will follow the service. 521. Estella Mae CLOSE

Estella (Stella) Mae Douthwright, 96, a life long resident of Salisbury, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Jordan LifeCare Centre.

She was born on the Scott Rd. to the late John and Gertrude (Lounsbury) Close. Stella had been a custodian with the former School District 16. She enjoyed Monday Morning Merry Makers, Salisbury Golden Age Club, was a member of the Pinehill Cemetery Board of Directors, past treasurer, past president and life member of the Ladies' Auxillery RCL Branch 31 & 41 and a past member of the former Salisbury W.I.

Stella is survived by daughters Shirley Morrissey (late Stillman) of Salisbury, Esther Vaughan (late Frank) of Moncton, son Lee of Salisbury, grandchildren Clayton (Jeannie), Connie, Beverly (Byron), Sandra (Marc), Heidi (Paul), Valerie (Kelly), Tamara (Trent), Jason (Kaitlynn), Nicholas, John (Julie), great grandchildren Alysha, Teagan, Tanner, Tailyn, Lucas, Raymond, brother Allison of Moncton, sister-in-law Kaye Close of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. She's predeceased by the father of her children Melbourne Douthwright, daughter Faye (1963), sisters Annie McFarlane, Ruth Armstrong, brothers Gordon, Stanley, Roy Wilfred.

Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800), from where a Celebration of her life will take place Friday at 4pm in the chapel with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Interment at Pinehill Cemetery at a later date.

800. Lloyd Arnold GOULD

GOULD, LLOYD ARNOLD - 1938 - 2014 - Lloyd Arnold Gould, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Nursing Home and formerly of Pine Glen, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his residence at the age of 75. Born in Saint John, NB., he was the son of the late Percy and Marie (Campbell) Gould. Lloyd was a former employee of the Moncton Ice Plant as well as the Town of Riverview and was a self-employed woodsmen. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (LeFurgey) Gould, daughters, Nancy LeBlanc (Daniel) of Stoney Creek; Barbara Carson (Brock) of Weldon; Betty Gould of Turtle Creek; Margaret Gould of Riverview; Donna Gould and Paula Gould both of Moncton; sons, Ricky of Pine Glen and Percy of Dieppe, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight brothers; Robert, Donald, Gerald, Jackie, Danny, James, Colin and Joseph. and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by a sister, Mary.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 6-8pm with the funeral service taking place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Allan.A.Bannister, 55 of Salisbury died Saturday at home after a sudden illness Born in Pollett River, he was a son of Mrs. Doris (Collier) Bannister and the late Charles Bannister. He was a self employed trucker and mechanic. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife , the former Carol Douthwright; two daughters ,Mrs. Paul Geddes (Diane) and Mrs. Alvin Geddes (Karen), both of Salisbury; three sons Wayne, Kevin and Quentin, all of Salisbury, One brother Herman of Salisbury; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home , Petitcodiac where funeral service will be held today at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
Funeral service for Allan A. Bannister, 55, of Salisbury, who died Saturday May 30, 1987 at home after a sudden illness, will be held Monday June 1 at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac at 2:30 pm. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial, Moncton .


Carol Lou DOUTHWRIGHT

Carol Lou Bannister, 79, of Hillside View Special Care Home, Moncton and formerly of Salisbury Back Road passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her residence.

Born in Pollett River, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Greta Douthwright. Carol was a retired Resident Attendant at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and was a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and had a great passion for music and knitting.

She is survived and missed by her children Diane Geddes (Larry), Wayne (Charlene), Kevin (late Debbie), Karen Gann (Ben), and Quentin (Shawna); grandchildren Lisa (Shawn), Andrew, Katherine (Nick), Melissa (Scott), Wesley (Angie), Matthew (Kyra), Emma Leigh (Réal), Aimee (Gary), Robert (Stephanie) and Alyssa (Adam); eight great grandchildren; brother Sydney Douthwright (Cheryl) and three nieces and three nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Allan; brother Wayne Douthwright; daughter-in-law Debbie Bannister and great granddaughter Lauren Buchanan.

Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Sunday, April 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Monday, April 4 at 11 am with Rev. Tim McKinnon and Pastor Paul Leger officiating. Interment at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

543. Eugene Malcolm BANNISTER

BANNISTER, EUGENE - Eugene Mac Bannister passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on October 28, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Born in Prosser Brook, he was the son of the Late Donald and Hilda (Murray) Bannister. Eugene is survived by his daughters: JoAnn (Verne) Milburn, Jean Steeves, Gail (Rick Steeves), Lynn (Kevin) Steeves; sons: Dennis (Krystal Cooper), Douglas (Jocelyne), Scott (Kelly) and Kris (Jodi); brother Clarence (Myrtle), sisters: Etta (Oram) Trites and Lillian (late Stuart). Eugene is also survived by his longtime companion Anna Joyce, and her family; by Aunt Rita (Raymond Good), 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Eugene was predeceased by his daughters Lorraine and Patricia, his children’s mother, Anna, and by several Aunts and Uncles. In his younger years he worked in the woods harvesting lumber, and later managed the Moncton Ice Company for over 40 years until his retirement in 1994. Eugene loved gardening, farming and spending time with his family. He was especially fond of horses and could frequently be found at agricultural fairs participating in light horse shows and horse hauling competitions.

BANNISTER, ANNA M. - Anna M. Bannister, 77, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday October 18, 2009. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ada (Peters) MacWilliams. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She enjoyed quilting, doing crossword puzzles, playing board games and cards, reading and spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
