Margaret Weir lived with James Ranford Bannister for many years after her husband, Charles died.
I remember when Glen Bannister was killed in 1957. He had just bought a '49 Ford car and was working under it when it fell off the jack.

Ethel Irene Collier ,93, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2008 at the Jordan Lifecare Center, the Glades N.B. Ethel was the only daughter of the late Arthur and Etta (Bannister) Leaman. She spent most of her years living in Riverview with her daughter Erma Kyle who predeceased her in 1990. She was also predeceased by her husband Manley Collier in 1975 and by her brothers, Omer, Walter, Henry, Bazil, Kenny and Woodrow Leaman. Survived by her grandchildren, Stephen Kyle (Roxanne) of Sussex and Cherry Seely (Richmond) of Upper Coverdale, great grandchildren Mitchell and Michaila Kyle and Jared Seely, step-grandchildren Carol Weaver of Ottawa, Gerald Kyle of Saint John, step-great grandchildren Hayley and Jason Kyle of Saint John and many nieces and nephews. Affectionately know as 'Nana', not only to her grandchildren but to anyone who got to know her, she loved to dance, knit and cook and had a wonderful sense of humour. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday November 11 at 2 p.m. with Rev. TINGLEY, CATHERINE (1919 - 2010) -Catherine Tingley passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, April 22, 2010, with her family by her side. Born on Gowland Mountain August 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Mercy (Bannister) Nowlan. She loved going for Country drives and enjoyed picking fiddleheads in the spring. She is survived by her son Alden Geldart (Robin Luckhurst) of Elgin, her sister Josephine Hall, and her brother Murle Nowlan (Pauline), step-children Edmund Geldart, Nancy Geldart, Louise Butland (Russell), Sara Boyce (Chet), Morris Tingley (April), sister-in-law Thelma Nowlan, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sons, Peter Geldart, Edward Geldart, and brothers Russell Nowlan, Morris Nowlan, and sisters Mildred Mills, Irene Ayles, Shirley Nowlan. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday afternoon April 25th, from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. A reception for friends and family will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. The family would like to thank the staff at Lefurgey Residence for their special care during Catherine's stay. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in memory of Catherine may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

It is with great sadness that the family of Frances R. Mitton announces that she has passed on, peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 7, 2010. Frances was born in Elgin, N.B. on May 8th, 1927 to Elizabeth and William Bannister. She spent most of her life in Elgin enjoying the simple things about the country and spending wonderful times with family and friends. She was an active member of the First Elgin United Baptist Church. Frances will be mourned and always loved by her daughter, Darlene Kyle (Charles Steel), granddaughter Hayley Kyle, (Ian Estey), grandson Jason Kyle and her little great-granddaughter, Victoria Moon Kyle Estey, all of Saint John, N.B.; sister Thelma Nowlan of Elgin, N.B; two nephews: Brian and Wayne Nowlan; as well as many close cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn Mitton and brother-in-law, Morris Nowlan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm in Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the First Elgin United Baptist Church with Rev. James Hammond presiding. Interment will be held in the New Elgin Cemetery.
