368. John Herman BANNISTER

Bannister, John, passed away peacefully at the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home on April 19, 2018, at the age of 84.
Born in Pine Glen, he was the son of the late Ralph and Nancy Bannister.
John is survived by his children Bonnie Lewis, Rodney (Shadie), Terry, Colleen (Scott) Duffy and Ben. John is also survived by his brother, Henry, Louis, and sister, Beatrice (Harold Trites), four grandchildren; Julie, Eric, Jessica, Timberly, eight great grandchildren; Michael, Jon, David, Meghan, Ashley, Melina, Ayden, Benny, step grandson, Zach, and his great great grandson Grayson as well as Ronnie and Paulie.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Louise, granddaughter, Sandi and several brothers and sisters.
In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private family interment will be held at a later date.


Louise Lillian DUNHAM

BANNISTER, LOUISE – Louise Lillian Dunham Bannister, 78, of Pine Glen, passed away peacefully Sat. June 7, 2014 at the residence of her son Rodney (Elgin) after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Samual and Lillian (Ryder) Dunham. Louise was the owner operator of Pine Glen Corner Variety and was well known for her homemade cooking, especially her homemade bread. She was a lover of animals, especially her goat Little Billy and pony Lacy and of course Little Bitty, whom she will enjoy the company of once again. She was a lover of nature and all the joys it provided to her, especially her Mountain. Louise is survived by her husband John Herman Bannister, five children; Bonnie (Graham) Lewis, Rodney (Shadie, her angel nurse), Terry, Colleen (Scott) Duffy and Ben. She is also survived by her brother, Sid, sister, Winifred Reicker, five grandchildren; Sandi, Julie, Eric, Jessica, Timberly, six great-grandchildren; Michael, Jon, David, Meghan, Ashley, Melina, step-grandson, Zac, and her great-great-grandson Grayson. Predeceased by brothers; William, Herbert, Albert, John, Ken, sister, Barbara and son-in-law Doug. Special thanks to EMN’s and Dr. Lisa Searle.


Eva Bernice WEIR

BANNISTER, EVA - Eva Bernice Bannister (nee Weir), 88, of Prosser Brook, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in Turtle Creek, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie (nee Smith) Weir. Eva was a past member of the Prosser Brook Baptist Church, and the Prosser Brook & Parkindale Women’s Institute. She is survived by her son, Gordon “Gordie” Bannister of Salisbury; her sisters: Elinor MacDonald, and Audrey Steeves; her brothers: John Weir, and Benjamin “Benny” Weir; her special niece, Esther Douthwright; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Bannister; her sisters: Hilda Morrissey, and Charlotte Martin; and her brothers: Raymond Weir, Howard Weir, Clarence Weir, and Eric Weir.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. STEEVES, EARL TRAVIS - 77, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly Forrest Hill passed away at his residence on Thursday November 22, 2012. Born in Forest Hill he was a son of the late Bliss and Mona (Steeves) Steeves. Earl was a lifetime woodsworker who enjoyed being out with nature. Survived by his wife Marion, children Karen Simmons (Ellis) of Moncton, Katherine Cameron (Michael) of Riverview, Kimberley Steeves (Beverly) and Lewis Steeves (Cindy) of Alberta, Jeffrey Steeves (Hectorine) of Bathurst ; his sister Louise Lane of the Glades; five Step-children; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived also by the mother of his children Shirley Fowler. Predeceased by his parents, his step-father Vernard (Bernie) Steeves; daughters Patricia Steeves and Pamela Reid.
The funeral will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Monday November 26 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. No visiting hours by request. Gerald Clarence Steeves, 67, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, left the land of the dying to be with his Lord and Saviour in the land of the living on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at The Moncton Hospital. Beloved husband of Ruth (Girvan) Steeves, Gerald was born on December 16, 1942 in Forest Hill, NB to the late Clarence and Thelma (Prosser) Steeves. Gerald retired from NB Tel after 37 years service in Bathurst and Moncton and was a faithful active member of Hillside Baptist Church where he served in several capacities. His involvement ranged from working with the very young in the nursery to leadership on several boards. In both his work and church life, his trademark smile and friendly positive outlook earned him the love and respect of everyone he met. This was nowhere more evident than his involvement in the yearly Leadership Summit. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed the maple sugar woods, cooking, hobby farming and was always ready to meet a new friend. In recent years he enjoyed being active in the Hub City Square Dance Club. Predeceased by his parents, Gerald will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Ruth (Girvan) Steeves, his children Marilyn Dunnett (John), Quispamsis, Tammy MacDonald (Mark), Winston-Salem, NC, Duane Steeves (Suzanne), Moncton, Vicki Buchanan (Brad), Sussex and seven grandchildren, Joshua and Isaac MacDonald, Benjamin and Sarah Dunnett, Nathan and Lauren Buchanan and Kenneth Steeves. He is also survived by brothers Ronald (Lorraine) Steeves, Sussex and David (Debbie) Steeves, Riverview; sister-in-law Karen Brown (Wally), Crousetown, NS and brother-in-law Ross Girvan (Paula) Rexton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Hillside Baptist Church, 2290 Mountain Road, Moncton on Tuesday June 8, 2010 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Pauline Margaret BULMER

LUTES, PAULINE - (1939 - 2014) - Pauline Margaret Lutes, 74, of Turtle Creek, passed away suddenly at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on April 9, 2014. She was born in Moncton and was the daughter of the late Hinson and Annie (Fearon) Bulmer. Pauline will be sadly missed by her husband Lewis Lutes, son, Kim, daughters, Charlene (Paul), Darlene (David), grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Tyler, Tara, Travis, great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn and Haley. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She had a Heart of Gold to all that knew her. Survived by brother, Donald (Anna), sisters, Joyce, Elizabeth (Leonard), Debbie (Mallory), aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Wayne, John, Gerald, Dennis, sons-in-law, Ivor Wilson and Kim Wilson.

TOWER, ARNOLD R. - 1938-2013 - Arnold Tower, 74, of Turtle Creek, NB passed away with his loving family by his side at the Moncton Hospital, on Monday, April 29, 2013. Born In Turtle Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Clifford and Lottie (Leaman) Tower. He was employed with Firestone and retired with 20+ years service. Arnold was a long time member of the Albert County Progressive Conservative Association. He was an avid outdoorsman; he fished and hunted moose and deer. Arnold also enjoyed playing bingo and last but definitely not least talking politics, however his greatest love was his family and friends. A loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, pap, brother and a friend to all, he will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosalie Tower; his daughter, Marlene Fawcett (Bruce) of Cambridge Narrows; his sons, Doug Tower (Cam) of Irishtown Road, Allan Tower (Darla) of Rosevale and Terry Tower (Della) of Riverview; his adoring grandchildren, Jodi, Tommy, Samantha (Cory) and Tabatha; one sister, Wanda Martin (the late Bob) of Moncton; four brothers, Gurney (Linda) of Turtle Creek, Clifford (Linda) of Upper Coverdale, Bert (Sharon) of Manitoba and Brian (Barb) of Riverview; his former sister-in-law, Donna Tower of Moncton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his many friends. Leonard G. Lutes, 74 years, of Turtle Creek, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
Born in Turtle Creek, he was the son of the late Leonard and Dorothy (Collier) Lutes.

Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Lutes; sisters Rosalie Tower (Late Arnold) and Pauline Arsenault (Late Joe) both of Turtle Creek; and Joanne Renton (Gary) of Moncton; brothers Lewis (late Pauline), and Robert (Marilyn) both of Turtle Creek; sisters in law Theresa and Jean; brother in law Brian Garland; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers John and Dean and his sisters Vivian and Bina.

Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Don MacDougall officiating. There will be a reception held immediately following the service.

Pauline Geneva Arsenault, of Turtle Creek, NB; passed away peacefully with family by her side at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Born in Moncton, NB she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Dorothy (Collier) Lutes. Pauline retired from Sun Bakery Equipment and Sales after many years service. Pauline will be remembered for her outgoing personality. She loved bingo, washer toss and horse shoes, above all she enjoyed time spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Beers (Glenn Trites) of Indian Mountain; son Dana Jones of Turtle Creek; step son Kelly Arsenault of Salisbury; sisters Rosalie Tower of Turtle Creek, Joanne (Gary) Renton of Rte 126; brothers Lewis and Robert (Marilyn) both of Turtle Creek; grandchildren Alyssa and Cody Beers; step grandchildren Jeremy, Cory, Felicia, Garrett; sisters in law Theresa (special friend), Betty and Jean.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Arsenault in 2005; sisters Vivian Smith and Bina Garland; brothers John, Leonard and Dean.

Joseph Henry Arsenault 1941 - 2005 TURTLE CREEK, NB - Joseph Henry Arsenault of Turtle Creek, NB, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, July 22, 2005 at the age of 64 years. Born on August 15, 1941 in Bedque, Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late Frank and Grace (Gaudet) Arsenault. Joseph was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his wife Pauline (Lutes); daughters, Debbie LeBlanc (Harold) of Saint John, NB and Susan Clayton of Ontario; son, Kelly Arsenault of Parkindale, NB; stepson, Dana Jones of Moncton; and stepdaughter, Diana Beers (Robbie) of Barrington, NB; sisters, Elizabeth Zollner (Max) of Springhill, NS, Marie Arsenault of Lutes Mountain; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dean Earl Lutes 1949 - 2005 Dean Earl Lutes, of Dieppe, NB, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, September 16, 2005 at the age of 56 years. Born in Turtle Creek, NB on March 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Leonard and Dorothy (Collier) Lutes. He was a member of St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church. Also, he was a member of the Moncton Dart Club. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Hickey); daughters, Tammy Smith and Tina Lutes both of Moncton, Angie (Greg) Kendrick of Berrington, and Tanya (Doug) Howatt of Moncton; son, Jamie "Jamer" (Misty) Lutes of Albert Mines; sisters, Pauline Arsenault and Rosalie (Arnold) Tower, both of Turtle Creek, Joanne (Garry) Renton of Moncton, and Vivian Lutes of Alberta; brothers, John (Theresa) Lutes of Riverview, Robert (Marilyn) Lutes, Lewis (Pauline) Lutes, and Leonard (Betty) Lutes all of Turtle Creek; 13 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. PROSSER, JANET LOUISE - (1951 - 2009) - Riverview, NB - Janet Prosser (Collier) 58, of Riverview, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on August 25th, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital after a courageous, three-year battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Cerdic and Gladys (Lutes) Collier. Janet will be deeply missed by her husband Tom Prosser; daughters Kim Prime (Rob), Stephanie Prosser, and Heather Pineau (Joey) all of Riverview; and her 4 cherished grandsons Zack and Avery Prime, and Dylan and Jacob Pineau. Janet will also be sadly missed by her siblings Dennis Collier (Lynda), Sharron Edgett (Alan), Glennon Collier (Paulette), Beth Hale (Dave), Colleen Collier (Annie), Bert Collier, Joette Collier (Bonnie); and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers Danny and Darrell Collier. Janet was a member of the Coverdale United Church. For many years she enjoyed square and round dancing with Tom until discovering their love of the south and started spending their winters together in Sarasota. Janet's greatest joys were spending time with her grandsons, travelling with friends, and relaxing at home with her cat, Sara.
