Jessie Bell DOUTHWRIGHT

The death of Mrs. Jessie Douthwright, widow of Joseph Douthwright, of Petitcodiac, occurred Thursday at the Sussex Health Centre following a lengthy illness. She was 80.
Born in Forest Hill, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Jerushia Douthwright. She attended the Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Raymond McLong (Evelyn), Petitcodiac, Mrs. Kenneth Perkins (Frances), Saint John, Mrs. Fred Davis (Florence), Little River, Albert County; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immedicate family.
The body is resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac.


428. Annie Edna SHEFFAR


KYLE, ANNIE - Annie Edna Kyle, 102, formerly of Elgin, passed away peacefully at her residence, the Jordan Lifecare Centre, on February 13, 2012. Born in Churchill, she was a daughter of the late George and Adeline (nee Douthwright) Shaffer. Annie was a past member of the Elgin Senior Citizens Club, the Woman’s Institute in Elgin, and the Churchill United Church. Annie was a homemaker who loved to dance, quilt, knit, and socialize; she had many friends, and she was a wonderful mother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Annie is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Goggin (Bill), of Salisbury; her grandchildren: Carol Weaver (Phil), Gerald Kyle, Cherry Seely (Richmond), Stephen Kyle (Roxanne), Andrew Goggin (Mary Ann), Colleen Goggin, Eric Goggin (Sharon); great-grandchildren: Haley Estey, Jason Kyle, Mitchell Kyle, Michaila Kyle, Olivia Goggin, Isaac Goggin, Gabrielle Goggin, Rachel Coady, Jane Coady; great-great-grandchild, Victoria Moon Estey; as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Clement Kyle (1968); her son, Vincent Kyle (1997); her siblings: Garnet Shaffer, Ella Steeves, Gladys Geldart, Stanley Shaffer, Hattie Mae Johnson, Rena Morton, Dorothy Orr, Harold Shaffer, and Clarence Shaffer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home in Petitcodiac. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the New Elgin Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Jordan Lifecare Center or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Douglas G. Douthwright died January 20th 1950, 73 years old after a 5 day illness. Parents Mr. and Mrs. John Douthwright. Surviving are four sisters Mrs. Appleby Douthwright. Amanda, Ruby, Carrie Douthwright living at home 2 brothers, Joseph and Robert. Funeral by Rev. Thomas M. Webb. Interment in Gowland Mountain. ( Born January 25, 1876)


224. Blanche Elizabeth DOUTHWRIGHT

Miss Blanche Douthwright, of Pollett River , died Monday morning at eleven in Moncton Hospital, at the age of 68. Her death was very sudden, as she had been in usual good health recently.
She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah (Power) Douthwright, and was born in Pleasant Vale, Albert County.
She was a member of the Forest Glen Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Petitcodiac for the past 18 years, moving to Pollett River a year ago.
Surviving are one stepsister, Mrs. Charles Davis; two stepbrothers, Frank Douthwright, The Glades and Applebee Douthwright, Pollett River, as well serveral nieces and nephews.
The body is resting in Geldart's Funeral Home until Wednesday, when the funeral will be held in the Forest Glen Baptist Church at two pm. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

443. Helen TINGLEY

STEEVES, HELEN L. - 1921 - 2014 - Helen L. Steeves, of Riverview, passed away with family by her side at The Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the age of 92 years. Born in Turtle Creek, NB she was the daughter of the late Leander and Blanch (Douthwright) Tingley. Helen retired from the U.A.P. Automotive after many years service. She was a member of the Gunningsville Baptist Church; a former Sunday School Teacher, she was involvement with the Pioneer Girls and Brownies. She also enjoyed time spent caring for the children in the Nursery. In Helen's spare time she enjoyed knitting, cooking and above all she enjoyed time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Harris of Saint John and Nancy McAleese and her husband Fred of Riverview with whom she resided; sister Greta Bell of Moncton; brother Everett Tingley and his wife Brenda of Turtle Creek, NB; grandchildren Susan Carlson and her husband Wayne of Hampton, Misty Arseneault of Hammond River, Luke McAleese of Riverview and Tawnee McAleese of Riverview; great grandchildren Jillian Carlson, Shayna Arseneault, Becky Arseneault, and Emily Carlson; great great grandson Christian Levesque; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Steeves; son Wayne Steeves; sisters Verna, Marion, Theresa, Iva, Marjorie, Myrtle; brothers Frank, James and Guy.
Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Gunningsville Baptist Church on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery in the spring. 449. Russell Orland DOUTHWRIGHT

DOUTHWRIGHT, RUSSELL - Russell Orland Douthwright, 87, of Colpitts Settlement passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Little River, he was a son of the late Herbert and Lavilla Douthwright. Russell was a carpenter and handyman throughout his life working for Hoppers, Colpitts Woodsworkers and was also self employed. He enjoyed gardening and taught himself to play the accordion and fiddle. Survived and sadly missed by his children Marilyn Sproul (Jim) of Ethel, On., Kathy Steeves (Armour), Donald (Susan), James (Denise) of Colpitts Settlement, Terry (Sharon) of Springhill N.S., Joan Trites (Keith) of Steeves Mountain; cherished grandchildren Mikaleen, Chrystina, Adam, Nicholas, Wesley, Sarah, Emily, Megan, Travis, Tyler, Katelyn, Matthew and great grandchildren Jordan, Morgan, Leland, Chace and Eric. Survived also by a sister Doris Geldart of Riverview and by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Vera, brother Melbourne and the mother of his children Shirley Douthwright.
Arrangements are in the care of the Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800) and at Russell's request there will be no funeral. A private family graveside service will be held at the Middlesex Cemetery with Rev. Keith Adams officiating. 464. Doreana DOUTHWRIGHT

DUFFY, DOREANA MYRTLE - 1922 - 2012 - Doreana Myrtle Duffy, 89, of Germantown passed away on August 24th, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Doreana was born in Harvey, Albert Co., on August 31st, 1922 the daughter of the late James and Mary (Beck) Douthwright. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her. She belonged to the Catholic Women's League and the Friendship Senior Citizens Club. Raising her family was her main goal in life, she was very proud of her children and grandchildren and showed it in her own special way. Her little great-great grandson also made her smile whenever he was around. Germantown was definitely the place she loved to be and she cherished all the time spent with her family and friends over years in her home. She will be sadly missed in our lives, but will be forever in our hearts. She is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Stella Knowlton (Roy) of Moncton, Marlene Duffy (Doug) of Moncton and Marilyn Nelson (Bliss) of Lower Coverdale; son, Charles Duffy (Anne) of Mirimachi; daughter-in-law, Myrna Duffy of Riverview; her treasured grandchildren , great-grandchildren and by her great- great grandson; brother, Clarence Douthwright of Hopewell Cape. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Duffy; sons, Carl and Alton; granddaughter, Susan; brothers, Leo and Basil; sisters, Doris, Kathleen and Ruby; half-brother, Eric.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. There will be Parish Prayers and a times of sharing memories on Sunday evening at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Monday, August 27th, 2012 at 11:00am. Interment will be held in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Donations to the Parkinson Foundation, MADD or to the Holy Ghost Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. 465. Clarence DOUTHWRIGHT

DOUTHWRIGHT, CLARENCE EDWARD - 1937 - 2013 - Clarence Edward Douthwright, 76, of Lower Cape, passed away on March 5th, 2013 after a brief illness. Clarence was born in Germantown, on January 1, 1937, the son of the late James and Mary (Beck) Douthwright. He worked in the woods and was a heavy equipment operator. He also was a farmer, raising foxes and mink. Clarence enjoyed being outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his son, Edward Douthwright (Darlene) of Lower Cape. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; sisters, Doris, Kathleen Douthwright, Ruby Beck and Doreana Duffy; brothers, Leo and Basil; half-brother, Eric.
Honoring Clarence's own wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A family graveside service will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, at a later date. Daisy Bell Levinia DOUTHWRIGHT


The death of Daisy Isabel Levinia Douthwright, widow of Vaughan Douthwright, of Alma, occurred Monday, December 31st at the Albert County Hospital after a brief illness. She was 64.
Born at Riverside, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Douthwright and Elizabeth Matthews. She attended Riverside Holy Ghost Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Daley, (Evelyn) of Albert, and Mrs. Gary Collins, (Brenda) of Riverside; three sons, Gerald and Ronald both of Alma, and Leo of British Columbia; one sister, Hazel Roberts; and 13 grandchildren.
