With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Henry R. Bannister of Moncton, New Brunswick, born in Pine Glen, New Brunswick, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Henry left this world on June 21, 2024 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Rafe Bannister and Nancy Bannister (Wells); his wife Emily Bannister; his sons, Thedore "Teddy" Bannister and Wayne Bannister; and his siblings, Myrtle, Dorothy, James, Helen, Ethel, Lewis, Roland and John.
He is survived by : his children, Ralph Bannister (Eleanor) of Moncton, Stephen Bannister (Donna) of Pine Glen, William Bannister of Pine Glen, Jason Bannister of Pine Glen, Henry Jr. Bannister (Sandy Taylor) of Moncton and Henrietta Bannister of Pine Glen; his grandchildren, Tammy Roberts, Cody Roberts, Kandace Bannister, Alex Bannister and Joey Bannister; and his sister Beatrice Trites of Pine Glen. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Pine Glen Community Center.
Bannister, John, passed away peacefully at the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home on April 19, 2018, at the age of 84.
Born in Pine Glen, he was the son of the late Ralph and Nancy Bannister.
John is survived by his children Bonnie Lewis, Rodney (Shadie), Terry, Colleen (Scott) Duffy and Ben. John is also survived by his brother, Henry, Louis, and sister, Beatrice (Harold Trites), four grandchildren; Julie, Eric, Jessica, Timberly, eight great grandchildren; Michael, Jon, David, Meghan, Ashley, Melina, Ayden, Benny, step grandson, Zach, and his great great grandson Grayson as well as Ronnie and Paulie.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Louise, granddaughter, Sandi and several brothers and sisters.
In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
BANNISTER, LOUISE – Louise Lillian Dunham Bannister, 78, of Pine Glen, passed away peacefully Sat. June 7, 2014 at the residence of her son Rodney (Elgin) after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Samual and Lillian (Ryder) Dunham. Louise was the owner operator of Pine Glen Corner Variety and was well known for her homemade cooking, especially her homemade bread. She was a lover of animals, especially her goat Little Billy and pony Lacy and of course Little Bitty, whom she will enjoy the company of once again. She was a lover of nature and all the joys it provided to her, especially her Mountain. Louise is survived by her husband John Herman Bannister, five children; Bonnie (Graham) Lewis, Rodney (Shadie, her angel nurse), Terry, Colleen (Scott) Duffy and Ben. She is also survived by her brother, Sid, sister, Winifred Reicker, five grandchildren; Sandi, Julie, Eric, Jessica, Timberly, six great-grandchildren; Michael, Jon, David, Meghan, Ashley, Melina, step-grandson, Zac, and her great-great-grandson Grayson. Helen Geldart of Colpitts Settlement, passed away peacefully at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on May 5, 2015 at the age of 89.Born in Collier Mountain, August 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Sarah (Allen) Collier. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family, she will be survived by her nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Reginald Geldart, sister Hazel Enman and her brother Hoyt Collier.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Norman Scott (1980). Loving mother to Linda (David) Hudson, Debra Campisi, Donna (Jim) Bannister, Larry Scott, Brenda (Kevin) Aalto, Todd (Amalia) Scott, Wayne Scott, and Craig Scott. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; her brother Carl (Wanda) Bannister; sister-in-law Frances Bannister and her Aunt Edith Martin. Predeceased by her parents Elvin (1980) and Greta Bannister (1981); grandson Christopher Baxter (1992); brother Clarence Bannister (2001); sister
Hazel Lane (2002), and grandson Joel Bannister (2007).

WEIR, GARNET - Garnet Tillman Weir, Dartmouth, NS passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital September 8, 2013 with family at his side. Born September 15, 1921 in Albert, Albert Co. NB, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. After graduation from Riverside Consolidated School, and service in the Canadian Air Force during World War II, he held many positions with British American Oil and Gulf Oil retiring in 1982 as an auditor. He then began his dream job of driving new cars throughout the Maritimes for O'Regans Toyota until 2001. It was his absolute joy to travel around every nook and cranny in the Maritimes searching out back roads and avoiding tolls at all costs. Garnet is survived by daughters Sandra (Ray) Adlington and Judy (Graham) Chisholm, and son Terry (Kim) Weir. He is also survived by grandchildren Raymond (April) Adlington, Wayne (Chrystal) Adlington, Kelly (Chris) Lo, Colin (Krystyna) Chisholm, Dustin (Chantel) Weir; great grandchildren Jessica and Victoria Adlington, Rebecca and Alexis Adlington, Dominic Lo, and Hayden Weir. He is also survived by his companion Joyce Berry, sister-in-law Vivian Weir, and many nieces and nephews. Garnet's happiest moments were when all of us were together sharing a meal and family hijinks. He took great delight in everyone's accomplishments both large and small. It is with great sadness that the family of Frances R. Mitton announces that she has passed on, peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 7, 2010. Frances was born in Elgin, N.B. on May 8th, 1927 to Elizabeth and William Bannister. She spent most of her life in Elgin enjoying the simple things about the country and spending wonderful times with family and friends. She was an active member of the First Elgin United Baptist Church. Frances will be mourned and always loved by her daughter, Darlene Kyle (Charles Steel), granddaughter Hayley Kyle, (Ian Estey), grandson Jason Kyle and her little great-granddaughter, Victoria Moon Kyle Estey, all of Saint John, N.B.; sister Thelma Nowlan of Elgin, N.B; two nephews: Brian and Wayne Nowlan; as well as many close cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn Mitton and brother-in-law, Morris Nowlan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm in Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the First Elgin United Baptist Church with Rev. James Hammond presiding. Interment will be held in the New Elgin Cemetery.
