314. Ardith Mae WEIR
Ardith (Weir) Bannister 1943-2005 Red Deer, Alberta--It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ardith Mae Bannister at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 23 at the age of 62. She will be missed more than words can say by her best friend and husband Russell Bannister; son, Jeffrey; daughters, Naomi (Larry), Terri (John), Angela (Ken), and fosterdaughter Denise (Joe). Ardith's grandchildren; Alysha, Tori, Erica, Jayce, Hailey and Riley were the lights of her life and gave her tremendous hope and happiness. Ardith is also survived by her sister, Sheila (Laurence) Reid; brothers, David (Sheila), Earl (Janet), Dale (Yvonne), and Royden (Suzanne) Weir; sisters-in-law, Vivian, Beatrice (Gerald), and Pauline (Merle). She was predeceased by her father, David; mother, Sadie Weir, and brothers, Gerald and Merle. Besides her immediate family, Ardith touched the lives of countless neices, nephews, cousins and friends. She accepted everyone just the way they are; therefore, we invite you to attend her memorial service, just the way you are. A public viewing will be held Wednesday, June 29, 7:30 to 8:30 pm, with funeral services at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 30, 2005. Both services will be held at the Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A street, Red Deer, Alberta, with graveside services to follow at Alto Reste Cemetery.
Laurence "Larry" A. Reid, 72, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday September 1st, 2012. Born in Hopewell Cape, he was the son of the late Percy Reid and Jean Dikens. Larry was a retired truck driver with Ben’s Bakery (32 years service), was an avid music collector and enjoyed gardening.
Larry will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Sheila (Weir) Reid; daughters, Cheryl Reid (David Pretty) of Halifax, NS; Cathy Hennessey (Shane) of Charlottetown, PE; Kim Reid (Danny Sonier) of Moncton; 3 precious grandchildren, Taylor, Amy and Carter Hennessey; brother, Thomas Dikens of Dallas, Texas. In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his step father, Douglas Dikens and sister, Carolyn Reid.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. 319. Arnold WEIR
Arnold Nathan Weir, 81, of Colpitts Settlement passed away April 2, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Middlesex, he was the son of the late Robert and Nellie (Robb) Weir, and husband of the late Phyllis Weir.
He built his own home, lived there 55 years and finished his house after his retirement.
As an entrepeneur, Arnold attended business school, and started his own business in 1975 "Arnold Weir Roofing and Siding" which his son continues to operate today. He was a member of Legion Branch #31 Salisbury and longtime member of the Dart League. After retirement, Arnold got very active, with skating downhill skiing, and biking to keep up with the kids. He always loved to socialize and was happiest surrounded by family.
Arnold is survived by daughters Paulet (Earlin), Lana, Kim (Albert), Janice (Hart), Sunday, Bonnie (Kevin) and Lisa (Michael), sons Ricky (Kathy), Jeff (Kim), 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers Harold (Louise) and Brian, sisters Helen (Bob) Wright, Julia Quinlan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Arnold was predeceased by sons Craig and Bruce and son-in-law Gary Campbell.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Rt 106 (372-4800) on Thursday April 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.to help them celebrate his life. It was Arnold's wish to have his body donated to the study of medical sciences at Dalhouise. Interment will take place in Middlesex Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials can be sent to Hillside Cemetery, Middlesex Cemetery or the donor's choice and would be appreciated by the family.
435. Ricky Arnold WEIR
Ricky Arnold Weir, 68 of Petitcodiac passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at home with his loving wife at his side.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Arnold and Phyllis (Simpson) Weir. Ricky was a lifelong career truck driver currently with Armour transportation Systems. He attended the Full Gospel Assembly in Killams Mills. Ricky loved family gatherings, and especially being a doting granddad. He enjoyed the outdoors, four wheeling, wood working and antique cars. In his earlier years in his spare time Ricky helped out in the family siding business.
He is survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 46 years Kathryn (Cruickshank); children Matthew, Melanie Drost (Craig) and Misty-Dawn Welborn (Jared); grandchildren John, Logan, Caden, Benjamin, and Elianna; sisters Paulet Smith (Earlin), Kim Weir (Albert), Lana Weir, Janice Kunze (Hartmut), Sunday Campbell (late Gary), Bonnie Weir (late Kevin) and Lisa Grace (Mike); brother Jeff (late Kim); his second family, the Cruickshank’s and uncles, aunt, nieces and nephews and cousins. Ricky was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Phyllis, his brothers Craig and Bruce and his in laws John and June Cruickshank.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800) on Thursday, March 20 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 21 at 1 pm with Pastor George Osborne officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.

Smith of Riverview passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital with his loving family at his side on Saturday January 15, 2011 at the age of 73 years.Born in Hebron, Albert Co. on July 2, 1937 he was the son of the late George H. and Myrtle Alice (Bannister) Smith. John worked for 33 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He started working with Frizzel Bros., then Modern Construction and retired from Carson Construction. He was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church.Survived by his wife Beulah E. Smith; son Carl W. Smith (Deborah Shire) of Pine Glen; daughters Sharon Keirstead (Bruce) of Pine Glen, NB, Valerie LeBlanc Daigle of Moncton, Karen Arsenault (Harold) of Pine Glen, and Carol Clouston of Riverview; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers Morris of Riverview, Ranford of Pine Glen, Alfred of Stoney Creek Back Rd., and Kennie of Moncton; sisters Myrtle of Riverview, Frances of Elk Point, Alberta and Phyllis of Lakeville; several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents he was predeceased by son in law Graeme Clouston; two grandchildren Ryan and Kristia; brother Nelson Smith.Visitation will be held on Monday January 17, 2011 from 7:00pm-9:00pm.The graveside and committal service will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at 2:00pm at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sylvia Bernice Trueman, of Colpitts Settlement, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the age of 70 years. Born in Turtle Creek, NB August 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel (Weir) O'Brien. Sylvia had a passion for reading, she was also avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo. Sylvia's greatest love was her family and grandchildren, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all, she will be deeply missed by her husband, Charles E. Trueman; two sons Charles Trueman (Deborah) of Lake Echo, NS and Michael Trueman (Verna) of Riverview; her adoring grandchildren Robert, Pamela, Michael, Krista, Rebecca, Wendy and Karen; great grandchild Jay-Lynn; two sisters Myrtle Nimchuk of Seaforth, NS and Marilyn Rogers (Vernon) of Mollins Road; brother Robert O'Brien (Nola) of Halifax, NS; as well as nieces, nephews and a special family friend Elizabeth Trueman. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two daughters Marlene and Brenda Trueman. Kimberley Jane Weir of Riverview, passed away suddenly at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Born on December 27, 1961 in Ottawa she was the daughter of Daphne and the late James Weir. She was employed by the Moncton Hospital as a network administrator for the past 10 years previously employed by Extra Mural Care as head secretary where she enjoyed the companionship of her many coworkers. Kimberley was a hard working, loving and devoted mother to her children, family, friends, and many pets. She enjoyed not only being with her family but also travelling and camping. She loved spending time in St. Martin’s, and being by the ocean. Kimberley will be greatly missed by her spouse Jamie Matthews, daughter Morgan Johnson (Lee Perrin) of Riverview, son, Nathan Weir of Fort McMurray, AB, mother Daphne Weir, of Riverview, sisters; Dawn Weir of Riverview, Glennys Dunn (Chuck) of Ottawa, brother James Riego de Dios, of Vancouver, grandchildren; Stacy, Keagen and Jaden. As well as, nieces; Shannon Dunn (Daniel), Nicola Dunn (Tim), great-neices, Jessica Parsons, Abby Juane and great-nephew, Phillip Bougie. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007), on Sunday, September 27, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Monday, September 28, at 1:00pm with Rev. Phillip Griffin Allwood officiating. The interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the SPCA or memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
