136. Dorothy Freda LEAMAN

Transcript e-mail from Lisa Gelinas;
Just a little background...My Mother was put up for adoption in 1943 when she was an infant, and was placed in the B.C. Protestant Orphan Home. She was adopted as an infant and brought into the US. My mother was told there was no information about her birth parents. She passed away in 1989; her adoptive mother passed in 1990. I am an only child, and have always been curious to know more about my mother's heritage.
A couple of years ago, I found her adoption papers and birth certificate, which had been hidden. My mother's name at birth was Vera Linda Leaman, daughter of Dorothy Freda Leaman.
Until now, I have never been able to find any information about my mom's biological family. It is beyond fascinating! It also gives me a newfound sense of a connection to history.
At this point, I have found out that Dorothy was born in 1920 and died in 1975 in Moncton. Other than that, I have not been able to find any other information if she had been married or had any other children. But, I will keep looking.
