Alveldia A. STEEVES

BANNISTER, ALVELDIA - Alveldia Ellen Bannister, 92, of Elgin, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 5, 2014. Born on October 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Violetta Steeves and a wife to the late Raymond Bannister. Alveldia was a member of the Third Elgin Baptist Church and also a W.M.S. Dominion Life Member. She was an avid Scrabble player and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Alveldia is survived by her daughters: Carol (Dean) Martin of Elgin, Louise (Ronald) Demille of Goshen, Wendy (Kerry) Alward of Cambridge Narrows and Darla (John) Steeves of Elgin; her son, Eugene (Donna) Bannister of Elgin; her grandchildren: Craig Martin, Carla Ayles, Aaron Martin, Devin Bannister, Rachel Church, Adam Alward, Sulie Steeves, Cortney Wilson and Zotie Steeves; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several extended family members and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Alveldia was predeceased by her grandson Tyler Steeves; her sisters: Wilma, Mariam, Mable, Ella and Marie; and by her brothers: Reginald, Donald, Roy and Ora Steeves.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Elgin Baptist Church on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the Hillside Cemetery at a later date. 350. King William BANNISTER

BANNISTER, KING WILLIAM - 91, of Hillside, passed away on September 27, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Hillside, he was a son of the late Zelotes and Laura (nee Steeves) Bannister. King was a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters: Fern Bannister of Rusagonis, and Ellen Bannister of Charlottetown, PE; his son, Robert Bannister of Moncton; as well as by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, King was predeceased by his wife, Wilda Bannister (nee Murray), his daughter, Lois Shaffer; his son, Earl Bannister; his sisters: Vesta Beck and Laurine Ayer; and his brothers: Raymond Bannister and Murray Bannister.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on Sunday September 30, 2012 from 6-9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Monday October 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Hawkesworth presiding at the First Elgin Baptist Church. Wilda MURRAY

BANNISTER, WILDA - Wilda B. Bannister, 85, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly of Hillside, passed away at her residence on November 18, 2011. Born in Prosser Brook, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Pearl (nee Prosser) Murray. Wilda was a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church, and the Women’s Institute in Elgin. She is survived by her husband, King Bannister; her daughters: Fern Bannister of Rusagonis, and Ellen Bannister of Charlottetown, PE; her son, Robert Bannister of Moncton; her sister: Reta Good of Steeves Mountain; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Wilda was predeceased by her daughter, Lois Shaffer; her son, Earl Bannister, her sisters: Eldora DesRoche, Daisy Trites, Rena Trites, Lillian Munro, Bernice Hopper, and Hilda Bannister; and her brothers: Bill Murray and Lewis Murray.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 6 to 9 pm in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac; the funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the First Elgin Baptist Church with Pastor David Hawkesworth and Rev. Donald MacDougall presiding. Interment will be held in the Hillside Cemetery. Donations to Gideon Bibles or the Canadian Bible Society would be appreciated by the family. Edith Pearl CUSHING

1921 - 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Garland Wright at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Born in Lakeville, daughter of the late William and Barbara Cushing.
Edith will be sadly missed by her common-law husband of 54 years, David Wright, three sons; Reginald (Cheryl), George (Carolyn) and Douglas, two daughters; Pauline Hicks and Wendy Bishop. Nan will also be specially missed by Dale (Cathy) Garland, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by six brothers and six sisters.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, May 7 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Smith officiating followed by interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edith's memory may be made to the NB Lung Association, Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Wilfred James LOUNSBURY

LOUNSBURY, WILFRED JAMES - Wilfred James Lounsbury, 90, of the Jordan LifeCare Center and formerly of Wheaton Settlement, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at his residence. Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was a son of the late G. Edwin and Edith (Howard) Lounsbury. Wilfred was a retired farmer, carpenter and mail driver. He was a member of the Wheaton Settlement Baptist Church. He is survived and missed by his daughters Alice Symes (Joe) of Harcourt and Mary Plaggenborg (Johan) of Sussex; sons James (Olive) and David (Debbie) both of River Glade and Nelson (Mary) of Coles Island; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother George of Wheaton Settlement; sister Edith Allen (William) of River Glade; sister in law Maude Colpitts; brother in law Claude Bannister; special niece Sherry Seely (Grant) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife W. Myrtle (Bannister); second wife Frances (Budd) (Dunstin) and sister and brother in law Gladys and Lloyd Dixon. Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday, July 21, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Friday, July 22 at 1 pm with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes officiating. 373. Eva Bernice WEIR

BANNISTER, EVA - Eva Bernice Bannister (nee Weir), 88, of Prosser Brook, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in Turtle Creek, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie (nee Smith) Weir. Eva was a past member of the Prosser Brook Baptist Church, and the Prosser Brook & Parkindale Women’s Institute. She is survived by her son, Gordon “Gordie” Bannister of Salisbury; her sisters: Elinor MacDonald, and Audrey Steeves; her brothers: John Weir, and Benjamin “Benny” Weir; her special niece, Esther Douthwright; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Bannister; her sisters: Hilda Morrissey, and Charlotte Martin; and her brothers: Raymond Weir, Howard Weir, Clarence Weir, and Eric Weir.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Mary BARTLETT

Mary T. Weir of Riverview, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in New Scotland Road, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Alberta (Ward) Bartlett.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters; Carol Scott (Craig), Gwen Halliday (Cecil) and Linda Guenette (Denis), son: Wayne Killam (Maxine), Dale Killam (Cristal) and John Jamieson (Jen), a step daughter, Patsy McKenna, a step son, Rodney Weir, sisters; Cathy Halbot (Neil) and Leah Cormier, a brother, Percy Bartlett, a daughter in law, Teri Killam, 18 grand children, several great grand children, a great great grandson, Ethan, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard, sons; Richard, Brian and Billy, the father of her children, Vaughn Killam, brothers; John, Roy and Lawrence and her son in law, Dale Murray.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Monday 2-4 and 6-8 with a service celebrating Mary’s Life will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11 AM, with Pastor Rodney Blyth officiating. 378. Eleanor WEIR

Born again, a child of God, has gone home to be with the Lord to live forever on January 8th, 2019. Eleanor MacDonald, born in Middlesex, NB, on September 3rd, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hattie (Smith) and John Weir.

She will be deeply missed and is survived by her brother, John (Ruth) Weir; her sisters-in-law, Betty Chamberlain, Vivian Weir, Helen Weir, Colleen Cole; children, Eugene (Georgina), Doreen, Wayne (Judy), Sandra (Oliver), Roger (Donna), Lucille (Larry), Orville (Heather), Eileen (Harry), Baxter (Charlene), Krista (Dale), Layla (Jim), and Jeff (Kelly), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters, her husband and father of her children, Lorne Wilson, husband and soul mate, Ralph MacDonald and son Ivor Wilson.

Eleanor spent most of her life in Turtle Creek and enjoyed vacationing on Prince Edward Island.

She was a member of the Wheaton Settlement Church, an avid listener of gospel music, enjoyed her church community, walking, knitting crocheting, crafts, and sewing.

A Service to Celebrate Eleanor’s Life will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm with visitation held prior from 12:00 pm until time of service.

The family would appreciate donations to Cornerstone Community Church, Wheaton Settlement or a charity of the donor’s choice.
