Descendants of Robert TOWER

Notes

4. John TOWER

John lived in Hingham for about fourteen years after his marriage. He later began looking for a new place to settle. On 27 December 1682, at a town meeting in Hingham, it was voted to sell some timber cut at a place called Couper's Island for £10, and to give the money to John "toward the paying of his purchase of land he bought in Plymouth Colony." It does not appear that he settled on this land, but instead moved to Braintree by 1685-86 where he remained for the rest of his life.
